I played Conservatory piano for 13 years.
Where did it get me?!
(I was good!)
I live a very musical life but this is WAY cooler than, say, my erstwhile college jazz radio show:
Secrets is SUCH A GOOD ALBUM
Should I consider the purchase of a Fender Rhodes?!
(This is not the first time I have asked myself this question)
My sister, at the good old analog piano of my youth:
So many keys!

I wish Richie Hawtin asked me to move to Berlin and Ibiza.
It was a good weekend for photos everywhere – particularly alleys.

G’s recent passing has gotten me pretty pensive.
As a lover of all things, I possess a sincere wish of happiness for those around me. But now, LET’S LOVE MORE.
***
BOX OF WOLVES, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE?
don’t wait
don’t make excuses
don’t ask for permission or seek approval
don’t be afraid
don’t hate love
forgive
always be kind in thought and deed
keep your feet moving
never give up
everything – every thought – every day is part of an exciting adventure if you choose to see it that way
follow your dreams
what’s the worst that could happen?
you will have fearlessly lived, loved, forgiven, followed your dreams and it will have been an exciting adventure
falling down an elevator shaft and landing in a pool of mermaids

I write this under the very heavy influence of a concoction of several flu medications and Chinese herbs. The drowsiness aspect of one of these medications is frustratingly not working and my face is salty like I’ve been running except I can’t run because I’ve no energy to even pour myself a glass of water.
Otherwise, life has been pretty good so far in the early dawn of 2013 and as usual I’m looking forward to another chartered spin around the sun.
The title of this post is Thompson’s reaction to the reception of his first sports journalistic piece The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved. The birth of gonzo journalism, “written under duress”.
