You Read It Here First

If you know me well (or, not at all but have been reading my blog), then you’ll know that I like to run.

As of now, only 6 people know of my latest running plans:

I WILL BE RUNNING LE MARATHON DE PARIS on MY BIRTHDAY, APRIL 15TH, 2012!

My PARENTS will vacay to Paris WITH me – Mum and Dad are on board! This is GRAND.

I think family vacations are wonderful. The first one we’d had in ages was last Summer in Alaska. I’ve always wanted to be a member of one of those families that goes on vacations together, enjoying each others’ company as adults. That will happen this Spring EN PARIS!

***

Fact: I haven’t run any BIG marathons. Out of the 5 I have run, I’ve been notorious for putting all my eggs into homespun events like the Ottawa Fall Colours marathon or Hamilton or Niagara Falls while my running comrades pack off to New York, Vegas, Chicago and Berlin.

THIS WILL ALL CHANGE!

SD and I will be two of 40,000!

Am in the BLUE corral. My bib # isĀ 17197.

Gotta run Hamilton first. November 6th!!! SO excited!!!

***

I broke 21 minutes in a 5K this weekend. Running this summer has been excellent. My medals are weighing down my bedpost.

***

I will not be wearing a wig, or be tied to SD with a string, or join a group of runners who have to wear similar outfits. I am not one of those people. I will go to RUN.

Then I will eat a million baguettes.

***

FIN.

Happy Up Here/Right Here

I’ve always been really, really into music. Sometimes something will grace my eardrums and I’ll spend forever finding it online/tracking down what it was I’d just heard.

Prime example: what happened this morning. I’ve been hearing this Top-40 song lately with that Human Nature Michael Jackson sample, and, finally having enough time to track it down this morning, a Bell Fibe TV ad intros it and that soundtrack led me to Royksopp again. It’d been so long and still their music after almost 8 years sounds exactly the same.

I never found that MJ Top-40 sample but I did find this gem, from 1992 apparently, which I think I like better. The title of it is similar to that of Royksopp’s.
